…I guess it’s time to clean the living room while I wait.
…Then I pick up my REAL guitar and strum out a few chords while I wait. I was going to play Rock Band 2 for an hour or so, but I’m forced by the progress bar from hell to play a real instrument. Unintended consequences?
…Then I figure I’ll go update the ol’ neglected blog. What am I at? 12% By the time the download finishes, my wife and kids will be home, and my solid hour will turn into not-even-enough-time-to-get-through-the-menus-to-play-one-song. Thanks for that.
Most of the time, I’m really happy that I have a PS3 and an XBox 360, so I can choose the best version of a game and play the one that’s best. The controllers are nicer and the system menus are simpler (though Microsoft has the best store, hands down). However, during the many progress bars of the PS3, I’m forced to find other activities to occupy my (very scarce) free time. When you only get one or two free hours a month, and you spend them all waiting rather than playing, I may as well just play XBox. Why was this so hard to get right? At the very least, it should have a set schedule to boot itself up, download updates when I’m not using it, and go back to sleep.
Non-plussed.
